I have ugly green counters in my kitchen but replacing

DWQA QuestionsI have ugly green counters in my kitchen but replacing

I have ugly green counters in my kitchen but replacing them isn’t an option. I’ve seen people on here paint their counters. What product do you use? I will do more research but need to be pointed in the right direction please.

I want to paint my countertops too, because I just started to save money to buy a new one.

Sand counter to scruff up. A primer that binds to plastic (2 light coats),
2 coats of chalkboard (not chalk) paint and 4-5 coats of polycrylic. Sand lightly between each coat. Note if you use Rust-oleum chalkboard paint, it doesn’t play well with other paints (if you desire to faux finish), so you would need more Rust-oleum paint in other tints.

Completely random, but this photo is absolutely and so simplistically beautiful.

Peel and stick vinyl is really cheap. And looks good too

I’m pretty sure I have those same countertops. I hope to change them one day, but it’s not our forever home so I may not bother.

Don’t do anything cheap and chochkee. Haha! Go to Home Depot and price out their laminate counters. Usually very inexpensive and some are very pretty. I’ve k own a few people that have painted with the Rustoleum paint spray and they came out nice. They don’t look cheap and slapped together.

😁 my kitty seems to like to lick water out of the sink too. I’m not much help. I’ve seen those counter paints but I don’t know how they work. I have done larger tiles on counters with very small grout lines (otherwise good gets trapped in there). If you do that, make sure you grout flush with the tiles and seal the grout otherwise it will be a cleaning nightmare.

You can also cover them with contact paper. I did a section near the sink in my last house and it held up for years.

Stonecoat Countertops Epoxy! They have amazing DIY videos on YouTube and it’s truly a great product. We use it to professionally refinish countertops.

I used melamine paint years ago with a sponge so that tells you how long ago. Covered very well and looked great
